We want to introduce you to Allison, one of our graduating seniors from East Hardy High School and one of our newest Junior Crew members from the Winter hiring! Allison is one of the six Junior Crew assigned to our new, state-of-the-art Bakery and Kitchen Living Classroom!

Allison shared: “I am excited to continue my work at the Garden Market in the Bakery to further my knowledge and experience, and eventually go to Culinary School! I’ve learned that it is okay to ask questions because it is always essential to know and retain knowledge, at least for me. I also like working here because of how friendly everyone is and getting different learning experiences. The Bakery is like my home away from home – my safe space, if you will. I always feel comfortable there, and I love when our team works together to get things done!”

Bakery Liaison Joshua added: “Having been assigned to the Bakery Living Classroom, Allison has thrived, learning to make our Gluten-Free Breakfast Granola, Chocolate Chip Cookies, Apple Crisp, and more. She was also an integral part of planning and cooking for March’s Soul Food Community Meal for the Wardensville Garden Market staff and Junior Crew.
Allison’s time in the Bakery has led to a newly discovered passion for food and hospitality. In just a few short months, Allison has demonstrated amazing growth, not only in her baking skills and her confidence and the bonds she has forged with her fellow Junior Crew.”
