In early 2022, the Wardensville Garden Market’s from-scratch bakery relocated to a new state-of-the-art production kitchen facility on Main Street. With that move came the formulation of the Bakery Living Classroom, staffed by six extremely talented Junior Crew who have begun making some of our much-loved bakery favorites in the last month.

With diligence and determination, the Bakery Junior Crew not only learned to make some of our delicious Breakfast Granola but began producing it for sale in the market on their very first day!

In just the last month, through the windows of our new bakery, these amazing youth have been seen learning how to not only produce our granola and dog treats for the market but they whipped together new recipes such as spiced pecans, cornbread, brown butter biscuits, and so much more for the staff community meal in March.

One of the current Bakery Junior Crew members, Brenden, said, “I really enjoy getting to experiment and try different things.”

And there sure will be plenty more to learn in the upcoming months!
