This week we are introducing you to Logan, one of our current Junior Crew members who is part of the graduating class of 2022 at East Hardy Highschool. Logan has been with the Wardensville Garden Market since 2019. Logan has participated in several projects like the Farm 5K, painting the school bus mural, and our Lab Garden. Logan also took full advantage of our online employment opportunities during quarantine.
Before last Fall, Logan was best known for his quiet demeanor. However, he has found his voice and passions over the past few months. Logan is developing the confidence to share more of himself with everyone. He has a deep interest in studying “the history they don’t teach in school,” as he says, including Malcolm X and the Armenian genocide. Logan is also an artist. He loves all genres of music and recently began playing electric guitar. His dream is to play the lead in a rock band.
“Young people like Logan are why I love coming to work. Watching him develop his voice, have success, and explore his passions have been a highlight of my time here,” remarks Jane Halterman, Student Services Lead. “Whenever I ask Logan a question, he always gives me a thoughtful answer. It is a privilege to work with Logan. He has a deep desire to travel and ‘see where life takes him.’ I believe Logan can accomplish just about anything he wants and look forward to watching him grow.”
