Thanks to Junior Crew and You – Meet Jayden!

Today we want to introduce you to another one of our Junior Crew members and graduating senior from East Hardy High School, Jayden! Since the summer of 2019, Jayden has been working with us and is known for his contagious smile and positive energy. He is the secretary of the Spanish club and was the first Junior Crew to get to assist with the Freight Station Market stand in Winchester, VA – which he loved!
Jayden shared, “My favorite job assignment here so far has been the opportunity to help run our farm stand in Winchester, VA. I’m working in our market now, and I enjoy that too. What I love most about this job is talking with different people.”

Farmer Abbye, who manages our traveling farm stand, said, “Jayden effortlessly connects with people. His kindness and empathy shine through in every interaction; peers and customers alike. He is eager to help others – attributes that can’t necessarily be taught but are oh-so valued in retail settings like ours. While working with him, it quickly became apparent just how much of an asset he was to our team. It became even more evident when he transitioned into working on-site at our market, and our regular farm market customers asked about how he was doing and how much they missed seeing his shining face behind our veggie stand! What more can I say? Jayden is a gift to our community!”

Another one of Jayden’s managers, Kelson, the Creative Arts Liaison, added, “Jayden is a very passionate young man. He’s an independent thinker with a large heart. I have seen Jayden on multiple occasions elevate everyone’s mood just by his presence; his personality is infectious. While working on projects with Jayden, I have shared my hardest laughs and brightest smiles.”
