Elvira became a Junior Crew member at the Wardensville Garden Market in September of 2020. She currently works in the Market but has plans to join the Bakery team! This is her senior year at Hampshire High School, where she enjoys Social Studies. She also enjoys learning how to cook many different types of food from different cultures – so much so she aspires to go to culinary school to become a chef.

Elvira values her ability to accept everyone, one of her many lovely qualities. This sparkling characteristic comes through when interacting with and helping her peers. When asked to show someone a new task, she enthusiastically takes on the role of teacher. When thinking about her time at the Wardensville Garden Market, Elvira noted, “I have gained a lot of friendships and confidence in myself. I am no longer shy when talking to new people.”
Market Liaison Manager Lou shared, “When I started working at the Wardensville Garden Market, I was nervous about meeting my new colleagues and the Junior Crew. Elvira stood out to me in my first week. She was so welcoming. Not only welcoming but also encouraging! From day one, talking to her has been a breeze, and I always end up laughing.”

Market Manager Shenae reiterates the impact of Elvira’s presence, “It has been such a joy to work with Elvira! She has been nothing but kind and inviting since my first day. She has a hunger for knowledge that is inspiring and is always looking for ways to grow while also including those around her.”

The Junior Crew bring our mission to life, and make as large of an impact on their mentors as we do on them!
