With the year winding down, it gives everyone a chance to relax and reflect back. While this year has not looked like most (or maybe, any) we still manage to find the good that happened. For us here at the Wardensville Garden Market and Farms Work Wonders, we have plenty of good moments to look back on. We frequently ask ourselves, how are we contributing to our community? What can we be doing to not only better ourselves, but those around us? As the longest year in history ends, we hope you ask yourselves these questions, too. If you’re hoping to support our mission, read how below.

Not only does 100% of your purchase get reinvested back into our programs, but 100% of your donations do as well. One of the most popular ways to donate is through our donation board. You’ll also receive a hand-made, felt vegetable or fruit ornament with your donation as a thank you, so you can always remember how important and special your donation was to us. Our ornaments are displayed on our handmade display board, allowing us to showcase items and programs that we need your help in funding for future years. You can choose from supporting our scholarship fund to benefit our students attending college and trade school or supporting our Junior Crew to pursue specialized training through internships. Don’t worry if you can’t make it to our in-person market; we have them for sale on our online market as well! Not only will these ornaments look perfect on your tree, but you’ll also feel good knowing what they represent.

Are ornaments not your thing? We have plenty of options to choose from when it comes to supporting our mission. By visiting our website, you’ll see how easy we make it to give back. Through a direct donation, you can choose the amount to give, how often you’d like to give, and where you want to designate your donation. You can also make this type of donation in honor of someone special to you. You can choose to donate towards whatever our greatest need is pick a specific program, like our scholarship fund, for example.

When you sponsor a student, you support a variety of youth-focused programs, like providing academic support hours, covering the cost of a guest speaker or enrichment program, and helping us purchase essential equipment for our digital storytelling program, Mountain Echoes Storyworks, to name a few!

If you’re looking for a non-traditional way to give back to us, and get yourself a gift simultaneously, consider looking into our solar panel donation program. Each installation, large or small, developed through the Wardensville Garden Market Community Give Back Program and installed by Mountain View Solar, will be donated back to the Market, eventually resulting in a community-supported solar array.

It’s the holidays, which means you’re most likely browsing Amazon for your next holiday purchase. Consider supporting us while you’re there. Through Amazon’s Smile program, you can shop and donate to our organization at no cost to you! With each eligible purchase you make, we receive 0.5% back. Even a little can go a long way. Simply choose Farms Works Wonders as your selected charitable organization while shopping on smile.amazon.com.

Our favorite way to show support is through joining our CSA program (Community Supported Agriculture) or through our Friend of the Farm cards, which are gift cards that can be spent at our in-person market or online market. If you buy them in $200 increments, we will even match it up to 20% of your investment! We guarantee you’ll have the best gift to give; because what’s better than fresh, local produce straight from our farm, West Virginia made products, and from-scratch baked goods?

There are many ways to support our mission. Not just through what’s listed above, too. With every online review, each follow and like on our social media pages, and with every purchase made in-store or online, you are giving back. Not only to our organization but to our local community and youth. Since we began this program in 2017, we have awarded over $111,000 in scholarship money for our student employees. This would simply not be possible without you and your generosity. We can not express our gratitude enough. Thank you for your continued support, and we hope you have the happiest holiday season yet!
